Two intensive full day workshops

Join us soon for two full day workshops. We’ll be diving deep into Craft, looking at how to build amazingly powerful and flexible systems.

For The Seasoned Crafter

You’ve built a handful of Craft sites already. Likely you’re pretty familiar with similar platforms like ExpressionEngine. You know your way around the Craft StackExchange and are using Craft on a regular basis — Craft Work is for you.

We’ve designed everything on the courses to build on the skills you’ve already got, formalize things and push you to get a full understanding of how Craft works and what it’s doing under the hood.

Craft Work is split over 2 days. Day 1 is all about the front-end and how to make the most of Craft’s amazing base. Day 2 focusses on the backend, and extending Craft to cover our every need. Tickets for Day 1 and Day 2 can be purchased together or separately. Attend both for the intense blast of Craft skills, and get a discount on the ticket price too. Numbers are limited to just 15 per day, so don’t delay!

New To Craft?

Craft Work probably isn’t your thing. The course moves fast and assumes an understanding of both Craft, Twig and PHP. If you’re just getting started with Craft we recommend the Mijingo Craft Starter Pack that covers all the basics.

2 Days. Skills to Kill

Attendees will receive all course materials for usage and reference after the workshops are complete — including videos, code examples, slides, worksheets.

For the front–ender

On day 1 we’ll look at strategies for the front–end — how to build to scale; test and debug with ease; multiple environments and more. We’ll rip into Twig and come out the other side with new ideas and skills. We’ll look into repurposing and extending Craft’s native behaviours to our own ends.

For the back–ender

On day 2 we’ll break apart how Craft’s element types interact and extend Yii’s native functions. How we can build on that same base and extend our own custom functions right into the core. We’ll also examine ways to integrate Craft into larger ecosystems and build things to truely massive scales.

MOSI, Manchester

The Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester is devoted to the development of science, technology and industry — so what better place to get your Craft on. The workshops will be held on the 2nd floor of MOSI in brightly lit contemporary spaces.

MOSI is easy to get to by car or rail. Deansgate tram and rail stations are just five minutes walk away, or there’s plenty of parking close by.
